2010 Fall "Try Out" Roster And World Series Qualifier Rules

NSA has adopted many of the guidelines we have been using for the past several years for our Fall tournaments so that all NSA teams can participate in "Try Out" Tournaments. Below is a summary of the rules now in effect for our 2010 Fall "Try Out" Tournaments and 2011 World Series Qualifiers. The actual rules are printed in the 2010 NSA Rule Book.

TEAMS MUST REGISTER FOR THE AGE DIVISION THEY WILL PLAY IN 2011

All teams should use a paper roster for NSA Fall "Try Out" Tournaments until an online version is developed and must adhere to the following rules (do not revise your 2010 NSA Online Roster):

1. A copy of the Fall "Try Out" Roster must be turned in at each NSA Fall Tournament.
2. There is a limit of 20 players on the Fall "Try Out" Roster.
3. Players may not be listed on more than one team's roster for any one tournament.
4. Players are free to play for different teams at different tournaments in the Fall without obtaining a release.
5. Teams may roster players who were on another team's official 2010 roster without obtaining an official release.
6. If a team earns a 2011 World Series berth in an NSA 2010 Fall "Try Out" Tournament, at least 50% of the players
listed on the 2010 Fall "Try Out" Roster must appear on that team's official 2011 Roster in order for the qualifying
    team to activate the berth.
7. Teams must participate in no less than one (1) qualifier in 2011 and the State Championships in 2011 to activate a Fall 2010 berth (Two qualifiers if there is no State Championship in your home state).
8. Unless the tournament director is notified at the time the berth is awarded that the qualifying team will not be
accepting the berth, no berths earned in 2010 Fall tournaments will be passed down.
